Thoughts on this bullshit given that they cant pay rent even if they wanted to given that there's no jobs due to corona?
Thoughts on this bullshit given that they cant pay rent even if they wanted to given that there's no jobs due to corona?
it's unironically the only way to go about the landlord jew
on the other hand it's 2020, if you can't afford relocating for uni just follow online lessons from parent's attic
Good for them honestly, though I doubt that they'll succeed.
UK University halls are a money making scheme, most halls were built by universities when the amount students got for halls was much less than now, the halls were budgeted to that ROI. Now students are paying double what they were paying in the late 00's, and the university hall fees always seem to move to the average hall fee a student gets weather the average goes up or down. UK universities need their financial teeth kicked in, when a university vice chancellor is on four times the prime minister, and the prime minister literally controls the whole UK not just some shitty liberal campus the universities are financially corrupt.
It's not about private landlords though, just about universities charging students for their accommodation despite the fact they're no longer even staying there.
You cannot argue with universities because they dont need you as the middle man between student finance and them. and most UK university stem students are foreign students, they dont care about the future knowledge economy of the UK only lining their pockets. I recently graduated from electronic engineering there were 200 Chinese students, 100 arabic students and 20 british students, because foreign students pay double.
Absolutely based
they're living in uni accomodation, just cant use halls "socially" right?
or are they literally not allowed in the bedroom they paid for? big difference.
based and redpilled

>female protesters
yeah i'm thinking cringe
no i support this. student halls are a absolute joke when it come to cost and the contractors.
I'm actually rent striking in one of these unis right now. pretty much has it right, as well as the fact a lot of us joined in response to self-isolating students being treated badly and even not receiving food in some cases. If anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer best I can.
Literally came to Zig Forums a week ago after finding out my aunt did well investing and wanted to learn more. I want financial security in times like this.
What uni? They forced you guys to go back to physical attendence right?
Just pulling figures out of my ass here but I remember reading that the head of Bristol Uni put herself on something like £450k a year, whilst the uni has what must be the highest suicide rate of students. I mean to a point that it's kind of famous for it and I think the Uni set up a dedicated suicide prevention team.
Christ I hate kids so much. Literal gibs monkeys who never experienced real hardships like 40+ generations had. And you never heard them whine about everything.
Humanity will die with this weak and spoiled generation.
Bristol. We came to uni on the premise that there would be some in-person teaching, "blended learning", so just about everyone on every course has been there. That went to shit quickly, plus certain parts of our halls like the common rooms and other facilities have been closed for months.
They are fucking criminals

How the hell did we all get so cucked that we're happy paying $250 a week to live in some tiny little box
Why can't I just chuck a shipping container in the middle of nowhere, whack on a door and add some furnishings?
Absolutely. It was very clearly made out that we'd have an experience we haven't had. Although it could be worse, I was considering Manchester at one point.
Yeah and unis telling students to attend and then offering no lectures. Basically because the landlords want money when then students could have just stayed at home for the same online content.
Middle of Nowhere is probably private or federal land. You better pay up
Don't blame Universities for BoJo's decision
Imagine wanting to prolong your indoctrination and pay for it
Students should be shot
I didn't know rent strike was a thing. As a landlord this disturbs me.
I wasn't Boris' decision to not provide food for students told to isolate user.
I work from home office now and my company doesn't deliver me food either
Schools also do not send food to children at home
>Thoughts on this bullshit given that they cant pay rent even if they wanted to given that there's no jobs due to corona?
Bro you can't even write a coherent sentence. If you're going to uni, please stop immediately and do something else. And no, I don't feel for them. They entered into a stupid contract and and they pay the consequences.
I walked pass some student locked in halls in Bristol, they got a really shit deal this year and the Uni are retards. I hope the whole industry collapses soon
If you or someone in your flat gets the coof because you were made to physically attend the university, who then also inadequately safeguarded against it, and have then been made to isolate in said university with no access to the outside world, it's on them to provide you with food. Especially when you've paid for catered accommodation like so many did.
This hasn't stopped food being hours or days late, in too small a quantity for the flat, or not nutritionally sufficient. There was also a few allergen whoopsies. There've been multiple other issues I can go into.
>I wasn't Boris' decision to not provide food for students told to isolate user
what? Do they want someone to wipe their arse for them too? What a joke.
>Literally came to Zig Forums a week ago
Go back
Students get what they fucking deserve. I hope they are all prosecuted.
I don't know why they are complaining about getting a job. They need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, go an see the manager of a company and give him a firm handshake.
Some of those students I knew personally, and were friends of mine. I'm not going to say who, or for how long, since I might get doxxed. The problem is the drink and drugs culture. This culture isn't going away any time soon - it's endemic to the city and the university. They can throw all of the pastoral support and services they want at the problem, but it won't go away unless there is some sort of serious widespread crackdown on the cultivators.
Godspeed.

Then go into them
>They need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, go an see the manager of a company and give him a firm handshake
Ok, so your situation: you live in the dormitory, you have no access to outside world, and you are not allowed to eat in the cafeteria either.
Is that correct?
Thanks lads.
No some Americans told me to make money
>"You may or may not be infected, you have to stay inside for 2 weeks, do not leave for anything or have anyone come in."
Can you see how that might be problematic if the only people allowed to come and go aren't providing food?
Maintenance issues including plumbing, kitchen appliances and lights where I am have all gone unaddressed for long periods of time. Rats too. Security staff have also been acting weirdly and seem to intimidate groups of students in living circles just for congregating in their own kitchens by generally storming about, as well as threatening the £10,000 fine.
But that's just here, I have friends in surrounding establishments like Manchester where it's even worse.
Yes, dining halls were closed and food was meant to be delivered to each floor/living circle. I'm home for Christmas now and where I was only had a few hiccups but other blocks and buildings were affected much worse.
Which city user?
lmao they already are cash cows, dumb fucks
Bristol.
So how do other students survive?
