Something I never really understood about this coin (I held it for a while a couple of months back but I sold to escape negative rebase hell): what does the 'BTC dominance peg' actually mean for the rebase price? It's in %, right? So if BTC is 50% of total crypto marketcap, then the xBTC target price is 0.50? So that means it can never have a target price above $1?

Realised I fucked up the example.
Let's say BTC's dominance is 60% of the market. xBTC's target price would now be $0.40, right? And if BTC is 40%, xBTC would be $0.60? Because it's supposed to be a hedge against BTC dominance so I assume that means it has to go up in price as BTC dominance falls.

I think this is the case with most of the rebase tokens. You should join the telegram, the people there seem to be a lot more knowledgeable than biz folk.

Well, not with AMPL, where the idea is the positive rebases are supposed to push the price down (which doesn't happen in practice because people are too eager to get in on the positive rebasing cycle - same reason why it bleeds out under a dollar rather than the negative rebases pushing it back to target price.)
But I think a lot of the other rebasing tokens are using more of a speculative purpose like you say. Which may be less of a cool idea, but it's more realistic.
