Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin! Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies. Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash.
If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.
Probably someone is testing the capability of the network.

been holding bat for 3 years, bought in at 38c, it's at 23 now. Should I wait for the inevitable scam pump that BAt always does or just swap it for XMR now. Please help me

Just the ability to process them in general have approved a lot over a couple years. It's pretty great to see. >12/21/2017: 9.4k Monero transactions. $20 avg. transaction fee. >Yesterday: 27.8k Monero transactions. $0.04 avg. transaction fee.

I need it because I have extreme luck and $1.37 will be $1.337 in 1 year If I happen to own it. But If I buy it the luck and fortune gods will not bless us all with their magic.

Monero's Google Trends results for the past year. Evidently on a slow rise with a big peak in mid-September. Fai enough.
don't pull conclusions too quick, but yes. This is what to expect in the future

>It really is the new store of value coin while everything else bleeds into it, huh? That's what I did, then I see COMP waiting for weeks to find a good entry but all it does it pump
Jackson Bennett
The entire market is down 5-8% from yesterday, while XMR is up 2-4%. This isn't a coincidence anymore. Just the fact that it isn't crashing along with everything else says it's adoption and investor base is solid, but pumping? That says it's both usable AND stable enough for smart money to be cashing out into it instead of conventional stable coins. I'm not trying to be a moonboy, I'm just saying it's impressive how close XMR has come to being the real cash equivalent for crypto. Every day a project holds it price against a bear market, I believe in it more and more longterm.
