I selected my pins and generated the keys and wrote them down, but didn't reset to factory settings which makes sure the keys given aren't compromised, and I know many are in this situation

Retard, if they have the seed as in they're leet and tempered with the ledger (or filled it with custom hardware) to give a determined seed, they can spend the shitcoins inside, the pin and signing txs is just if you have the device and not the seed.
