What college majors are actually worth it?

What college majors are actually worth it?

>inb4 CS
I dont want to join your over-shilled, oversaturated, outsourced meme field.

engineering

mba but only top tier lvl, guaranteed money afterwards. ama

>worth it
None, basically. 4 years of not getting paid, not getting work experience, not moving up and getting job skills is way too long. Even if the degree were free it's not worth it, especially when you can get massive gains running your own business or dumping your paycheck into crypto over 4 years.

If you price it out you'll see that I'm correct.

Parents are paying so I might as well go. My plan was to try to run a business while in college and hedge my bet so that if the business fails I can still get a job and get capital to try again.

something hard and actually in demand like an engineering field or something with future demand like genetics. Could always go MBA as well, as long as the economy is up theyre in demand.

just dont pick a meme degree and dont pick cs, waste of money and time

What's your job?

>Parents are paying
You’re one of the lucky few, don’t fuck this up

Your major doesn't matter at all. It helps for getting your first job out of college but after that nobody cares about it and they just care about work experience. I work in data science and have coworkers with history degrees

private equity analyst, entry level. only recently graduated.

>Parents are paying so I might as well go.
You didn't even read my post. Why do I bother?

Financial Engineering
Computer Science (Only if you secured a gig after graduation)
Everything else is a meme.

I did read your post and it was retarded, why would I not go if it's free. What work experience can I even get at 19 with no degree that would be worthwhile? It would be absolutely retarded to not take advantage of this?

Don't listen to the retard. If your parents are footing the bill definitely go. Use the four years to save money and find a niche that you can specialize in. People fuck up trying to be versatile, better to just find something you can do better than anybody else

you are correct. don't listen to the "muh go balls deep in crypto, dropship and don't go to college". if it's not a meme, user posting this is just retarded af. get a fancy mba or advanced finance degree, do a lot of extra cur activities like starting a small company, internships etc. easily land a 6fig job. other anons advising engineering are also correct, depends on what you prefer.

Mba is the art history equivalent in master's degrees

Are MBAs not becoming oversaturated now? Arent business degrees the most common now? I was thinking of something in finance or dentistry and maybe start my own dental supply company making instruments.

This, if you're going into business just major in accounting unless you're going to a top 10 finance program and are actually smart. But If I could go back I would skip college and go into a trade like HVAC tech or electrician or something.

t. retarded accounting supersenior

There is an idea in economics called opportunity cost. If Instead of working a part time job at McDonald's and putting your entire paycheck into chainlink each week you go to college, even with college being paid for you still end up very far behind other options.

>Parents are paying so I might as well go.
How about you have some skin in the game first?
If you have nothing riding on it you will just give up on hard classes, switch majors, coast etc.

Finance followed by JD (only if you're at an IVY league).

Any state school go with STEM.

>start a small business while in college
>then get a job
Lmfao why wouldn't you just go balls deep into business instead of getting a job with schekelburg the cost of not living your own life and allowing other to choose you level will permanently shackle you to the wage cage.

Quick note on that, engineering sucks if you live in the south, unless you work for the defense industry.

i've got an mba with corp finance degree from top tier uni and really didn't have a hard time finding a nice job, i'm slightly above average smart at best.

I do have some skin in the game. If I fuck this up I loose the biggest financial blessing I will ever get in my entire life. This is literally my financial future.

I will never invest in crypto

I said IF the business fails. If the business fails I would go to work to get money saved up to try again with a new business.

>when you can get massive gains running your own business or dumping your paycheck into crypto over 4 years.
Every guy that wants to get rich quick young for the sake of it, is insufferable and coping in some way.
Yeah you can make more money getting into a trade when you are young. But you have to deal with miserable boomers at miserable construction sites. With higher possibilities of injury and you have to get rid of your youthful energetic behavior.
Fuck that - where college is free you can mess with girls and still do well if you just get your schedule right you don’t have to sacrifice anything else

Dental school will creampie you with debt

sure. wasn't an option for me. 40k mba and bills+rent. needed steady income. but sure, if you got the money i would prefer that.

300k a year after specializing with 300k debt is easily payable. I am absolutely willing to live like a hobo for 2-3 years. Most people make the mistake of buying a Merc, Condo, and random shit right out of school and cant pay down their debt.

Med and Dental students are the most financially illiterate people in the world.

engineer getting an MBA at a top 20 school. It's a good compliment if you are ambitious. a real MBA (not some sub 20 no name school) is less about the actual education and more about the network it provides you. It's a much more intangible advantage that generally takes a while to pay off. Alot of my class have an engineering background and are jumping to consulting/banking/some other high paying job because engineering just doesn't provide that unfortunately. It is a great background to have and I'm glad I have a strong math and problem solving skillset. People without strong math backgrounds are insecure and rightfully so. Excel scares them.

Get the engineering degree to have a solid foundation then go work hard and get into the field you want. Or get into a top tier finance program, work hard, and get a job at a bank then do whatever you want.

>"cs is oversaturated"
>looks into engineering, business degrees

>doesn't provide his own opinion, just shits on another
low tier iq

Unironically philosophy
nobody cares about your MBA,
just look at Sir gay

>I dont want to join your over-shilled, oversaturated, outsourced meme field.

Good, because fuck off we're full

Electrical engineering, go work for a utility company. Comfiest job I've ever had

Are you saying CS isn't oversaturated? It's on track to be more popular than business degrees, every single company is shilling it. Now you dont even need a degree to do it, you just go to a Bootcamp and walk out and your "qualified". If you dont want to pay for a Bootcamp just self teach yourself.

The barriers of entry are so low and there's no way the demand is going to be able to keep up with supply for 10 years. 1 of two things have to happen; lower wages or fewer job openings.

I especially dont want to join a field that sees you as useless and too old the second you turn 35.

ABSOLUTELY NONE ARE WORTH IT.
Get a job or work for free in a field you want to be involved in.
APPRENTICE.

No. Have them pay you or support you through WORKING FOR FREE FRO SOMEONE THAT IS A BADASS.

College is ENTIRELY for suckers.
Talent wins EVERY TIME.
If you don't have it, don't bother.
If you do have it, no reason to bother.

Best choice is to be an unrepentant slut who wears what looks like a bathrobe to her graduation, probably without a bra or panties underneath. You can then hook a high value man and live off his labor for a few years before you divorce him and take half his lifetime earnings so you can travel and be yourself and live the slut dream that TV tells you you have.
