Litecoin's time has already come and gone because Ethereum is now the silver to Bitcoin's gold. Litecoin at this stage is just Dogecoin with a more limited coin supply.

It is indeed a shitcoin, but it has a firmly rooted base which makes it hard to knock out. The high market cap and name make it very interesting to normies and institutions that know nothing about the space. Rest assured that it really won't last long term.

i mined for months in 2015, then lost the password for the wallet. also had 280 i'd bought in 2014 iirc, spent them all on weed. now i have 2.

In my country there is podunk crypto bank which enables you to buy BTC, ETH and LTC. They do the EU fiat-ramps themselves.

LTC is pretty boring. There is nothing of note about it, it is just a slightly different bitcoin.

ltc is the only cryptoCURRENCY that's actually used as a currency other than xmr and btc. Eth's sole use case is hosting and trading vaporware pump and dump tokens. Only a complete noob would think eth is superior to ltc. And I say this as someone that doesnt even hold ltc and I never have or will.

You're right, but why is that worrying?

I guess my point was it's not LTC specific, besides furthering name recognition it's not a very notable usecase for LTC
although in general it matches the pattern of LTC being always included in crypto financial products, which is one of the main reasons I own it.
