1) Can you make it being a farmer?
2) Can you be a farmer after making it?
Imagine being completely self-sustaining
Who else /makeit/ as a farmer?
I have a small operation and it's a pain in the ass. Just enough crops for the house and a bunch of chickens and in considering stopping because it's too time consuming and I'm already a wagie. Sure having infinite eggs is nice but animals take a lot of time
Farmers in the US have it better than anyone.
They have land that isn’t subject to inflation like currency.
The government subsidizes their crops because they can’t even manage to diversify their crops on their own
They only have to really work hard during the few weeks of planting and harvest. The rest of the time they get to fuck off and tinker with equipment or whatever.
Land prices are so high that unless you’re born into or marry into a farm family, becoming a farmer is a pipe dream
European farmer here
It's better than being a wageslave I guess
Don't have animals, so it's not that stressful
Making it as a farmer was never the goal I guess, because being a farmer means you made it already.
What else do you need?
Enough time and money to travel around and enough time to laugh at wagies.
Nothing else needed.
Finding a wife is the hard Part though because they all prefer some Banker Cuck and the big city life
My grandpa was a farmer and died from kidney disease from bouncing in the tractor seat and breathing gas fumes his entire life
Every farmer I know is extremely wealthy but these guys have above 30 million dollars or more just in land value I have bees so I work closely with them. One of them is running so many livestock he had 10k sheep stolen in 1 year and it didnt even make a dent. This year has been amazing for them one of the top 5 biggest crop harvests in our nations history they have been burying what they cant off load as trucking companies, silos and storage centers cant keep up with the supply. One who employs me let his wife buy a 140k front loader and branch stripper as a pet project for her to remove trees and sell the wood, she made half a million the thing had wheels taller than me.
They also run at huge debt until harvests or some finance so they're always in debt all year round, but have tens of millions of cash.
i unironically wanna buy a farm when i make it off of chainlink, thinking pennsylvania
Kekkk RIP

Australia.
No they dont. Farmers are easily one of the most cucked groups in north america. They're chained to companies like Monsanto, or the Big Chicken mega-corporations like slaves. The average farmer is in massive 7 figure debt and just gets shit on repeatedly by a system who forces them to compete with each other like crabs in a bucket.
Watch any monsanto documentary, and Super Size Me 2 for more information

Didn't look like a fun way to go user. Didn't get to enjoy the spoils of his work, had to wake up really early every day to tend the land, and his wife ended up being extremely greedy and is going against his will.
Sigh that caption for an ass pic, what’s wrong with society biz?
sad. I hope he was still happy with his life at th end
Oh nice.
Actually worked for a few farmers there as well when I was younger. Grain harvest and stuff. Good times.
Completly different dimensions than in little ass Europe. That's the thing I hate here, that the infrastructure limits me.
More acres = higher cashflow
Is it bad that I have the urge to push that thot off a cliff?
Average yearly net profits for average farming family in US is like $25. Yes, around $25.
Doesn't mean anything
she is ass she has ass her job is her ass her livelihood is her ass look at the ass be sure to like and follow for more ass pics and ass content
Because they own their own capital since food is a form of capital and they can avoid all taxes.
I guess the average crypto miner income is also around 25.
Fucking knew it.
South west victoria, by any chance?
If you didn't have to wage would you consider doing it just as a hobby?
>1) Can you make it being a farmer?
No.
>2) Can you be a farmer after making it?
As long as you understand it's a hobby that will never be profitable, sure.
>As long as you understand it's a hobby that will never be profitable, sure.
sounds good to me
Just remember you can't deduct expenses related to a hobby. If you make the effort to at least pretend it's a business you can at least get some of your expenses subsidized via write-offs.
Farming is a lifestyle. You dont do it for the money. It sucks and it's hard so its not for everyone and most cant make it work either financially or just physically.
Most successful small operations were inherited from their parents and will be passed down. Starting from scratch is tough
So, do it if you want but you probably wont make bank
