/XMR/ Monero General

Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin!
Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies.
Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash.

If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.

lol you sound like the nocoiners in 2011, stay poor I guess

I don't like this decoupling guys, when bitcoin goes down we go up, when everything else goes up we crab or go down, unfortunately all of crypto is quite bullish right now

how to mine?

fuck your general dead chink cartoon man

Monero is literally one of the five coins that are legit in crypto. Whenever I'm buying drugs I use monero. Bitcoin is useless because it can be tracked so easily, and there's no way to get untracked except for switching to a coin like monero.

And wallah just like that... Monero Thread will never be under 300 replies again

kek I'm pretty sure latin american drug dealers and child traffickers still use cash

I'm a coke addict, retard.

Imagine thinking crypto has a real world use case outside of speculation.

Imagine thinking that's a bad thing.

Imagine thinking this isn't just tax dodging the coin. Drug dealers also take USD better not use fiat.

>Imagine thinking crypto has a real world use case outside of speculation.
that's not true though, and xmr btc and ltc are proof of that

mixers are still quite good for anonymizing, but with these transaction fees the whole ecosystem is crumbling

No they aren’t.

Fucking ugly. Never use this ever again please. It's distasteful.

>No they aren't.
they aren't what? they aren't good for anonymizing or they aren't crumbling?

they aren't good at anonymizing.

care to expand on that point?

although moneros ledger is discrambled by ring-ct, its still a ledger and someday AI will be able to analyze it and make sense of peoples transactions.
monero is the bitcoin of privacy coins
theres better privacy coins that will replace monero

Monero is still being actively developed, if in the future some new technology would be able to crack monero's encryption, the developers could adapt accordingly.

>where to get monero
>no binance link

Is buying XMR on binance not a good idea or wut

over the past several years, it has become more and more common for kyc exchanges to autoflag Bitcoin which has had a history of going through mixers. funds are frozen, questions are asked, etc. Because Bitcoin has a transparent blockchain, these chain analysis companies can figure out the wallets of these mixers and they can essentially red flag them. Suddenly the Bitcoin that goes through there is tainted.
Additionally, there are various things you can pick out just by observing the blockchain. For example, if you were to withdraw 0.023 Bitcoin from an exchange, and then send it through a mixer, chain analysis would simply follow the mixer and find the wallet that deposits roughly 0.023 Bitcoin. Mixers are largely ineffective in this regard because all the information of the transaction is broadcasted and permanent record, unlike Monero where everything is obfuscated.
Because of these inherent weaknesses, the dark net has been forced to adopt Monero, and I firmly believe that more and more regulations will push people to Monero for these same reasons.
sure. binance and kraken are kyc exchanges where you can get Monero from. The OP needs to be updated to show kyc places to get monero. The OP only shows non kyc.

>the developers could adapt accordingly.
passing around a public ledger is a design flaw that monero cant fix without forking

every blockchain has ledgers you dumb niggerfaggot.

I want to trade all my BTC for xmr but I’m hesitant even tho I know monero is better. I just want to come home

not really, google "zero knowledge proof"
u retard

I thought binance doesnt require kyc for daily withdrawals less than 2btc? I've never had to kyc there.
checked

What is a kyc?

monero has zero knowledge proofs you fucking retard.
and shielded transactions are still recorded on blockchains. they are just shielded so you or me can't tell the transactions from looking at the outside.
you have no idea what you are talking about and are just blindly fudding.
oh that might be a non american situation then. sorry I think it depends on the jurisdiction that you are in.
