Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin! Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies. Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash.
If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.

John Miller
when will it stop bleeding sats?
Alexander Taylor
glowing
Parker Martinez
in about two months when the inflation is 100% below fiat currency and btc.
Nathaniel Torres
Sold a good portion of my stack thinking everything would go red, and yet here we are with everything red except for monero... fuck i’ll wait to buy back in at 130ish
Jace Edwards
passed eos scam on coingecko
Carson Anderson
E coin is better than any other crypto, prove me otherwise.
monerobenchmarks.info/# I'm guessing there aren't many old processors that will be economical for mining XMR, it's pretty dependent on memory latency and new processors have improved on that aspect fairly significantly compared to old ones.
Cameron Wilson
Hmm, i do have very cheap electricity, I might rly start mining, i expect monero to go 25k by eony
Cooper Hall
pretty steep upfront investment desu, unless you want to use it as a work computer and mine at night maybe? considering picking up one of the new ryzen chips and doing this
Carter Nguyen
Realistically, we’re going to $1000 in the short term. Potentially $10,000 at the peak of the btc rally
Cameron Brown
200 EOY 1000 by next April
Jose Ramirez
wait is mining xmr actually still viable? I'm looking to build a new 3d/video workstation and having it mine at night sounds pretty comfy
Luke Reyes
As a dedicated machine? probably not, I wouldn't build a dedicated machine for it As something to do on the side with a machine you already have? Yeah, with a recent processor you'll most likely earn a profit if your electricity costs aren't too crazy.
Hunter Howard
Only cpu is profitable, invest in a beast amd cpu and saceifice a little the vga
Zachary Flores
as I said, I'm looking at some pretty powerful processors for my work anyway, so this would just be an off-hour thing to keep the house warm at night. electricity prices are decent here.
Nicholas Bailey
yep. Monero's random x mining algorithm is asic resistant, so if you have a nice cpu you can actually get a decent return in the long run. I think 1k by April is only possible if we get a coinbase listing. That would be a massive pump.
Noah Diaz
go for it then, it's what I do with my old machine isn't too difficult to set up, I'd definitely use a pool and not solo mine tho. I usually mine XMR on the CPU and ETH on the GPU
Colton Wood
>I think 1k by April is only possible if we get a coinbase listing
Why hasn't happened yet?
John Murphy
the (((financial establishment))) fears the xmr
Ayden Bennett
because coinbase licks the glowies boots
Jose Brown
They're afraid of money laundering.
Isaac Campbell
Coinbase doesn't like untraceable coins.
Asher Rivera
Wasn't xmr listed on coinbase before and got delisted? Doubt they would change their minds suddenly
I think it could hit 25k that would be like 500b mcap, and I think btc will hit ~8trillion mcap which is gold's current mcap which would put it at ~400k. So xmr at ~.06 which is only a 2x from its ATH.
Colton Cox
guys i need a 3x by the end of the 2021 or i will get killed, is xmr a good bet?
Asher Green
Yes, you can keep the rest of your gains for yourself
