I’ve been thinking; when I make it and look for investment opportunities to expand my portfolio, what car produced within the last 20 years could I buy that will double in value within the next 5 years? There has to be some Ferrari or Lamborghini models that were low production that could easily 3-5x in value. Could a Polestar 1 (limited to 1,500) be one of these cars?
Investment cars
If you have to ask you'll never know.
LaFerrari, Pagani, McClaren. You would need about 50-100 million dollars to afford one though. Or just buy a pristine 1st gen NSX or r34 GTR and garage them for the next 20 years if all you have is a few millions
We are currently at a crazy all time high for many models right now. Trying to find one that will double *from here* within 5 years is tough. I assume you're only talking about very valuable cars, because I doubt you're looking to double your value on a 20k car investment.
I think low-production, high performance cars built from 1993 to 2008 or so are the best prepped for higher valuation down the road. You can get into a Diablo for like $120k right now, and they only built ~2,900, a *ton* of which have been crashed or modified to oblivion. That price will not stay the same 10, 15 years from now. That's really the only one I'm willing to share for free. I actually do this for work.
Mazda.rx8
cars will never appreciate as much as stocks, crypto or even gold right now, you missed the train buddy
I’m not looking at those cars, I think they’re at their bubble. I’m talking about within the last 20 years and yeah those jdm cars might just 2x but I’m talking more about high end cars currently in the 150k-400k range. The LaFerrari for example was already very limited production and I just would get into something like that, pretty sure it’s all set up from the start who’s getting which car.
I also think the BMW M6 might run up in value soon, it didn’t sell much in the US and was only available for 2 years.
>That's really the only one I'm willing to share for free. I actually do this for work.
Interesting. Explain?
Oh shit just read your post. Interesting that you work in this... I personally have a hand full of cars I’m thinking about. But they’re mostly euro cars
79-86 foxbodies are always climbing in value
the aero ones have started coming up but the SN95s never will unless it's mint and you can keep it mint for another decade
Invest in literally anything else retard
It doesnt have to be a Ferrari/lambo etc. 20 year old Range Rovers sell for a fortune now(20-30k). All you have to buy is the desirable model of a car people generally think is average and treat like shit.
For example the Audi TT 3.2 v6 version (mk1). People laugh at Audi TTs and call them 'girls cars'. Therefore they are sold, crashed, totalled without worry, the numbers dwindle causing the good examples still on the road to then become desirable in the coming years.
Same goes for BMWs, look at 3 series M3 models from the 80s/90s they are worth a fortune now, 90s Mercs are the same.
Ive planned to make a modern car collection, the cars I will be looking to add is a BMW M6 (00's model), Audi TT mk1 3.2 and mk 3 TTrs (mk3 is the last model ever of the TT). A merc SL (always desirable).
Also dont forget that within 10 years most countries will start banning the production of 100% combustion engine powered cars. This will cause a massive increase in value imo.
If you want a future collectable Ferrari look at a good model of an F430, 360, 355. IF possible get a manual over an auto, thats what all the collectors seem to want. Look for models with good feel for the road, again thats what collectors always comment on as a result of computers taking over almost all aspects from acceleration to steering.
1998 Toyota Carolla BASE model came with AC, electric windows, and power steering. Theyre so cheap right now that price has no where to go but up. Like buying xrp at @$0.07. you'd be a fool not get a couple and just hodl.
>euroshit and pastanigger cars
euroshit is a flatout fucking total loss and pasta nigger cars are a gamble, avoid that shit.
Very based. You actually just named some cars I had in mind would increase in value.
Here’s another one that’s a bit boring but actually very rare, the Volvo S60 Polestar. It’s volvos first and only “performance” hybrid and no one is buying but it’s actually very fucking cool. I’m thinking Volvo is a bit of a boring brand though, but still it’s rarity is worth the notice
I bought a 1981 dmc Delorean this year for $17k. Stole it basically. 13k miles and they value over $25k.
Granted you should aslo buy a ford GT. If you are into muscle cars go for the classic challenger or look for racing versions that arent abused. You have to wait until all zoomers are gassed because they are giant faggots and will make owning muscle cars a hate crime against pacha mama, hopefully we can still save the new generation from zoomer degeneracy.

Look at the coupe Polestar, it looks insane.

You clearly have no idea. Buy desireable cheap car, store it, pay no further money, sell in 10 years for more than you paid.
you need an eye for style. what will look better to people twenty years from now than it does today?
Pre aven V-12 lambos will never go down ever. also niche manual porsches
LMFAO
Buy an investment watch
It's still gay, but not as dumb of an idea as your "investment car" idea
Probably not. Never was as big of a hit as the rx7, which was also had a more reliable engine.
Most likely scenario, rx8's only really start to shoot up in value once there aren't enough rx7's left, if ever.
So far it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.
R34 GTR could be a good bet because prices should jump in 2024 when they become legal to import to the US
I help curate private automobile collections, although not primarily for investment purposes.
>IF possible get a manual over an auto, thats what all the collectors seem to want. Look for models with good feel for the road, again thats what collectors always comment on as a result of computers taking over almost all aspects from acceleration to steering.
This. Your logic here is also part of why I am big on 93-08 cars. Modern, but not gay.
>euroshit is a flatout fucking total loss
cope, see pic rel
Cars are terrible investments. Even people who collect cars do it because they like cars not to make money.

>Cars are terrible investments. Even people who collect cars do it because they like cars not to make money.
I'll add to my earlier posts by saying I completely agree with this. You pick any era of car, and create an index fund of their values compared to now, and it's a bear market, really bear. You're playing a losing game and just trying to pluck winners from the rubble.
>I help curate private automobile collections, although not primarily for investment purposes
Can I ask how this works for cars like ferraris lambos etc in the era of the internet? Theres so much car content and autists online you would think most everyone with a bit of knowledge would know which cars are going to value in their respective niche. What makes it so that you feel you "wont share anymore for free"? Im guessing there's a secret world where certain cars with provenance are traded, is this what you mean? For example certain jdm autists with connections having access to garages that keep special cars, like the ultra limited edition tuned models or those that were used for certain races or by famous figures/clubs then stored etc.
euroshit is a total fucking loss, but ofcoarse a fucking special edition porsche is going to go up dipshit.
Dodge Demon, zero miles, sticker still on window
Series IV, series V RX7's still are still quiet cheap.
I could not imagine they will drop in value any more and they should appreciate nicely.
Look for any of the jap imports from the 90s - 00s with communities or cult followings if you're a poorfag.
If you're a richfag, early model Porsche turbos.
Anything collectible will do fine as long as you look after it.
Subaru brz, toyota gt86, scion frs, honda s2000, mazda miata.
The cars of /o/. Anything else is cringe.
I guess I don't know what you're asking.
>you would think most everyone with a bit of knowledge would know which cars are going to value in their respective niche
Do you mean 'increase in value'? It's really anybody's guess to be honest. I have my opinions, I think the Diablo is a safe bet, it's my go-to freebie. But when clients ask me for investment cars I try to steer the conversation towards what they actually want to drive and look at and appreciate for what it is - and leave the investments to markets that actually tend to go *up* by nature.
>Im guessing there's a secret world where certain cars with provenance are traded, is this what you mean?
It's not secret as in some sort of underworld, gang-run thing. I mean, that does happen, with stolen cars, but it's a tiny % of exchanges. But, yes, if a used exotic dealer sells a car to an individual in a private sale, or Joe sells Bob his car based on a private negotiation and a few papers signed, those sales won't be made public, the amounts won't be made public, and you won't know about them, but people whose job it is to know (me), will. Most auto sales are not publicized.
