>TSLA crashes back to 50 dollar >Short it with 20x leveraged fund >27993600% returns Just imagine. What would happen if you tried to cash that shit in?
Reminder that despite stock indexes going up over the long run individual stocks eventually go to $0 so it's quite possible you bought the literal top and could be bagholding for decades.
Give me some good stocks to day trade tomorrow frens!

can someone explain to me why anyone would buy SPY over QQQ if QQQ's returns are a lot better? im relatively new to the stock market. neither is leveraged so i would imagine the risk is the same. SPY covers 500 companies vs. QQQ so it's more diversified but honestly there comes a point when so much diversification actually makes it shittier, i mean there aren't 500 super valuable companies
Christian Richardson
Keep an eye on the dollar. If the USD starts doing a rebound it may cause an exodus from equities. The steady rise in equities currently is assisted by the dollar's steady fall.
Samuel Adams
MARA is up like 50% the past two days though.

Hello sir, I have new secret way. 10x your money, sirs. All you need is take mortgage on sears. Do your needful and let me know. Thank you sirs.
Seriously though, I always hated Sears, probably because as a child I knew it only as the place where my mom would go to look at dresses for 'only 5 more minutes' while I would slowly die of boredom.
nobody was, but people were holding it...the same might happen with all of spg if they don't get their shit together and people are waiting it out betting on getting a nice dividend for a discount
i was following all the retail and i gtfo once the i got my cut when the first vaccine news came

There won’t be a March-like crash again barring a black swan event. There’ll be deep red days for the next year but Jerome Powell basically confirmed we’re going to continue going up for awhile
Brayden Hill
really risky. youd likely get liquidated before it starts tanking, as it would be incredibly difficult to perfectly time when it drops

Sears was the Amazon of the 20th century. >What you are now, we once were; what we are now, you shall be.
>i mean there aren't 500 super valuable companies Bro they're call F500 for a reason, yes there are 500 super valuable companies.
Colton Walker
Yeah and bitcoin is only going to go up. Don't make me make a "you are here" post please.

Nah that event is called a taper tantrum and as long as it's well explained with a lot of prior warning there will be some red months and corrections but no major drops.

>interest rates returning That'll be a while.

Most of gains in large indices over the past decade were from Facebook, Google, Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple which is also responsible for the NASDAQ finally overtaking the SP500 for returns. That line of thinking would actually mean you should just keep going for Facebook, Google, etc. and ignore the "dead weight" of the rest of NASDAQ. Smaller companies usually have more space to grow than large ones but if you think those are endgames than sure. Stocks are typically only part of the average joe's portfolio and they want returns with minimal worry about sector rotations or hard dips. This is why index funds that track the SP500 or VTSAX are popular. Sure, you aren't maximizing returns but you are limiting risk and not having to hope that what was true the past decade will continue into the next.
Nathaniel Watson
I’m holding 1/15 SPY $255 puts and $20 UVXY calls. Dubs decides whether I’ll make it or not
the difference is the Sears stock is literally worthless, people are only trading it for shits and giggles since the stock doesn't actually pertain to anything anymore

The forecasts for semiconductors in 2021 look good, but I know nothing about semiconductors so I just decided to buy two different ETFs and let the experts sort it out.
If you've got a recommendation to replace one with a better ETF in another sector I'm very eager for tips of course, I'm really new to ETF trading.

I got hit hard by GAIN's YoY report dip and just left the divs to reinvest and get a dozen more shares.

The are the 500 largest companies by market cap that turn a profit. The tech trade has just been killing it and has led to QQQs gains over the last decade.
i can't see it happening anytime soon, took them like 5% to raise them above 0 last time and this is way more serious not to mention they would only raise them to 1% at most
I dont check futures anymore because I already know theyre fucking green

Sure. Statistically very unlikely though. Only two I can think of top of my head are 9/11 and rona.

Have you looked at the holdings of your etfs? A lot of them are holding the same stocks. One I would suggest is QQQJ, while the QQQ follows the top 100 nasdaq stocks. QQQJ follows 101-200 giving you a lot of mid cap tech exposure. It's relatively new but I like the holdings.

great info, thanks guys. just looked up the dot com bubble -- SPY and VTSAX fell ~35%, while QQQQ fell ~75%. i wonder if TQQQ would have gone to zero if it was around at that time

Peter Thiels SPAC (BTWN) is in talks to acquire Tokopedia which is a dominant ecommerce platform in Indonesia that was funded by BABA. I really think this is a strong pick especially with Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam being the top future emerging markets imo

I think someone posted a backtest of TQQQ a few weeks ago that showed TQQQ price if it was around during that time. It didn't go to 0 even with no circuit breakers.

Thanks I'll look into that!
I'm retarded. Can you explain semiconductors like I'm retarded (I am)? They're used in electronics right? Like microchips?
