We still have an ancestral village-based family system and tend to keep close to each other, I know relatives all over the Anglosphere running their own businesses and they do prefer to hire their fellow villagers over even other Greeks. It's just the way the Mediterranean world works

I still like and would prefer to keep the comforts of modern societal living. I don't think that's the issue. It's more the feeling that I'm wasting away at work and I'm trying to see if other anons feel the same way and if that's the case no matter what job you do.

Do anything you can that makes money outside of having a job. The best thing you can do is create something that gives you residual income such as a royalty, a rental fee, etc. They are best because they generate money without consuming much or any of your time.
Once your income from these other sources is enough to support you plus give a little extra for investing in new ventures, you are free.

The lockdown is kind of a meme.
I live in south-west Germany and the only thing I have noticed is that there a less people and cars than usual on the streets.
The only time I have seen people wearing masks was in super markets.

I was about to finish my STEM degree in a few months at some company doing my thesis but corona kind of fucked me over (I wasn't doing too well in the first place but the happening was the final nail in coffin) and I'd rather fail and try again.
Not having to commute the city for work and uni is very refreshing, though.
I always felt like a fucking foreigner in public transport since about 2017 and now I spent most of my time at home or on the bike around the woods of my town.

Overall, corona is really refreshing for me besides my thesis going to shit.

You're giving all your time and energy to someone else who doesn't care about you, and should you retire one day, you traded your whole youth to "live", which was actually you dancing to the beat of someone else's drum and being told to feel grateful to have had the opportunity to do so. When you were born they gave you a worker number and taught you to serve the upper class. When you're buried and gone nothing will have changed and the system will keep running because you raised a child to take your place -- or they replaced you with foreigners who will.
