Well I was quite involved with Virginia before the Coroavirus put a hold on all of that. Before I was very active in /vsg/ and I decided the Canadians atleast deserve a fighting chance to defend their rights even if their government doesn't seem to respect it at all. AR-15s and their derivatives were restricted, meaning that any legal firearms were registered so the government knows where they are. If you just "lose" it you're leading yourself wide open to legal repercussions.
The M14s on the other hand were non-restricted, which means that they're not registered. The government has no idea where most of them are.

Well like Virginia nothing has really happened yet (atleast in terms of current gun owners.) One must understand that Canada is more like the UK and Europe than America. Canada was not founded on the concepts of liberty and fear of government but rather is a commonwealth nation who has always trusted their government and has not had many domestic issues in their history. Of course nobody has done anything yet, they Canadians, they trust the process and distrust of the government is not as strong as us Americans have. Sucks but that is what we must deal with.
