These songs hit a different way, what other artists today can compare to the feeling you get when you hear songs like, They're Hanging Me Tonight, Aint I right, Faleena, etc. Also give some recommendations for other classics from this time. Dean Martin, Berle Haggard, etc. Need some good tunes.
Marty Robbins or other old western artists

Not sure if you have heard these, but im more interested in the storytelling they provide in the form of how man should act, not just the music but the message. A lot of them have to do with standing up to injustice, whether its the (((state)))(rangers/police), unfaithful women or dealing with problems in a way modern music cannot provide (as in running to the woods with a rifle with the end of the song ending in a shootout because the man is now an outlaw). Also not a boomer
Berle Haggard sounds pretty epic, a cross between Berle Ives and Merle Haggard. Whiskey drinkin' bar fightin' Santa Claus.
All his songs are about bad people getting their just deserts, well his early songs. It's good triumphing over evil in a western fashion
I like this one.

This is one of my favorite Loretta songs.
You can really see the emotion on her face
David Allen Coe - If that ain't country
Everyone in The Band except Levon Helm were c*nadians but they definitely slot into Americana nicely
Listen to Colter Wall.
His music is made today but it does have the feeling you are talking about.
love me some coulter wall
There are a ton of different renditions of this song. Its from the civil war.

I loved hearing Felina in Breaking Bad. Such a catchy song.
A lot of Townes stuff I can't handle but he inspired a lot of other musicians. Bob Dylan wanted to play with him. Townes told him to fuck off because he thought him a sellout. As a young man he has his memory wiped through insulin shock treatment. Spent the rest of his life drifting, writing music and addicted to drugs. He had a wife and kids and signed everything he had to them. He knew he would spend the money on Drugs.
Forgot link. Here Zandt is caring for the old black guy. He dies a week after this. The girl won grammys. Can't remember for sure but I think its Emmylou harris

Tbqh Marty Robbins and Cash are the only country I like but then again I never got into the genre
Honestly Felina fits Breaking Bad pretty well. Especially cause Felina by coincidence is Fe(Iron) Li(Lithium) Na(Sodium)
