Money Corrupts

Look at what Apple has become without Steve Jobs. It's become more and more like it's competition: soulless (focused on profits over product), cluttered with endless variety (useless Apple Watch, dozens of different Mac and iMac products, colors-- all in the name of increasing sales) and instead of the niche culture Apple once cultivated it's now another mainstream fagfest of degenerate materialism. OG Apple had a certain style to it. It was innocent, intuitive, simple, and (believe it or not) affordable. It's a shame, really, as I've gotten quite fed up with my PC and Windows/Microsoft and started researching Apple computers again only to find they've not done anything special in 10 years. What a waste. Steve Jobs was a genius in that he knew less is more.

1. iPhones with screens bigger than 3.5 inches

Who the fuck wants to carry around a tablet-lite in their pocket? It's just fucking obnoxious.

>Apple’s original iPhone and the several generations of models that followed it all featured 3.5-inch screens, a screen size that Steve Jobs once described as the “perfect size for consumers.”

Genius. Simple.

2. Tablets smaller than the original iPad

More useless variety that clogs up the simplicity of the original Apple brand. Obnoxious shite.

3. Non-skeuomorphic software design

This one is big. Remember the old iPhone icons? They had a weight to them, and were easily discernible. Compare that to the shit Apple puts out today. Garbage!

Fucking nerds like to bash Jobs cuz he wasn't a NEET unwashed techie like themselves. Like it not, the dude was a philosopher.

4. iPad Pro

More "Pro" bullshit adding to the clutter. Stylus' are gay as fuck, too.

5. Apple Watch

Gayest thing ever.

Definitely. The guy was a visionary.

At least on screen size, the problem is the use model has changed since Jobs died. They're no longer phones, now they're most people's primary or sole computing device. You need more screen real estate to use the wider internet rather than a handful of curated apps.

I'm a huge Jobs fanboy and I agree the company lost its way, and I predicted that at the time of his death. What I didn't predict was that they'd continue to print money faster than the fed all this time. I don't really get it to be honest.

The game was rigged from the start

Fair point. I would argue that's why they released the original iPad, though, as it had cellular function.

What is strange to me is how much of a backseat they have taken in recent years. They've faded into mainstream obscurity (to some degree) compared to how raved about they were 10 years ago.

Jobs was an asshole. People who look up to him are assholes too.

Things will eventually improve. Cyclic nature and all.

People see iPad as just a big iPhone now. The phone cannibalized the iPad sales which stunts it's growth. I feel as tho jobs would have held the screen size way back. And been early to the folding iPad game.

The world needs more assholes like him, then.

I fucking hate apple. But I give credit where credit is due. The worst part about him dying and apple going further to shit is that it's dragging Android down with it. I still miss my Blackberry. Suck on that, faggot. Better yet, RIM me.

Jobs was a visionary who held people accountable for meeting his standards, which were high. Deal with it. People who accept 90% solutions are literal cancer.

The iPad was a mistake in my opinion as far as computing goes. It's not a computer, it's walled garden media consumption device. But now that a generation has grown up on tablets and phones, they barely know how to use basic computing designs and paradigms, like standard desktop OS GUIs, let alone write their own programs. It's led to the appification of desktop software and the internet at large in large part because Apple and Google and Microsoft didn't draw clear boundaries between phones and actual computing. It's going to take a revolutionary effort to not only create the software to really synergize the different computing platforms but also to train customers to use it effectively. Apple was so close to this with the iTunes/iPod model but they fucked up badly with Mac and now it's too late.

Late 90's/early 2000's Microsoft and other related companies were all much better than they are now. I guess I'm just nostalgia tripping or something but quality seems to be a forgotten element to Western capitalism these days. Imagine what people could create if resources were unlimited.

BYO PC and put linux on there? Same feel, less cost. And niche in terms of home usage.

If Steve Jobs were alive today he would’ve recognized the market’s taste going towards bigger screens and act accordingly.

Agreed. It's almost like when a company designs a competent, good product and refuses to cuck to the bandwagon, they get railroaded and consumers LOSE.

Could you elaborate on how they fucked up with Mac, exactly? You seem to know what you are talking about. Appreciate the responses.

Yeah, maybe.

We're getting fucking Jew'd hard.

Steve Jobs died of AIDS, he was a “creative”

What an idiotic and uninformed opinion.
>Markets demand doesn't change
>Muh luminary is always right

I demand to not have my pockets turned inside out every-time I have to pull my fucking phone out. I also demand I don't feel the weight and girth of my phone sitting in my pocket whenever I'm out.

Apple was never great. Some cultists were merely dazzled by Steve Jobs massaging their ego though Apple products.

>doesn't even understand what the word 'market' means

>Markets demand
I am the market.

Yeah, lot's of people think so. Too bad they're worth a trillion dollars and you're just another upset 4chin NEET like the rest of us.

They ignored the product line, pursuing only ever thinner machines that had serious problems for actual users that were then ignored (for the macbooks, the actual mac itself was just ignored entirely for like a decade with no new models).

They also messed up their software paradigms by making computer software more like apps, instead of making computer software work WITH apps to make them more powerful. For example, iTunes was a great music management program back in the day, and with an iPod you could take all the music you had at home, out into the world with you. But organizing music on an ipod sucked, so you made playlists at home on iTunes and then imported those onto the iPod. That's a great paradigm that should have worked with the phone, but that never really happened. The ability to actually work with data and then transfer it over to phone apps was lost entirely when third party developers took over as the dominant force in the app store, which was mainly driven by google and android.

Getting that paradigm back will require revolutionary effort, and I honestly expect it to come from the FOSS community once a FOSS phone gets developed.

Why are you so upset with modern Apple? Given your narcissism and simple-mindedness you're their target consumer.

protip: it was like that way before jobs died
