Man I love trench coats. I wish they were in vogue again. They are 100% better than those half-assed jackets that we call coats. They keep you warm and dry all the way down to your knees. Fuck fashion and optics.
Just wear one casually. Over here in germany trenchcoats are normal outer wear during spring and fall. Everyone wears them, men, women and even kids. Pick a tradtionall fit and it will last you a lifetime with proper care. Just don't wear graphik t-shirts with it (or better yet at all). Invest in a couple chinos, polos and sweaters plus everyday leather neakers and you'll look right in every occasion.

Trench coats are so fucking cringe because they are a very conspicuous try-hard ‘fashion’ item while offering little practical value. They’re heavy and lots of material to carry around, they’re not warm, and a small umbrella is far superior for keeping dry. Or just a modern smock style lightweight rain coat in really bad weather.
They wore them in the trenches because at the time that was their best technology for keeping millions of men dry-ish over time.
Greatcoat is the only way. Actually warm and comfy, so you don’t look like a retard who is trying to look cool while also having no fashion sense.
