I never took the SAT because I went to community college first and transfered out. I did take the GRE though...
The key is to play the game. They legally can't verify some of the information. It's all self identified shit. According to the SAT you are:

>LGBT
>Self identified as a woman
>Hispanic
If they can't verify it, or if it is a self identification question, the answer is always the most beneficial to you

As an SAT tutor, the rich kids of average intelligence do a lot better than the middle income kids of similar intelligence because their parents pay $65/hr for my tutoring. At least 50% of the score has nothing to do with knowledge about the test content and instead has to do with test-taking strategies. I've had kids score 50% lower than their final score just because they had horrible test taking strategies - e.g. spending 10 minutes on a single question.

True, but this is also the case for every metric used to predict collegiate success. Are supposed to just have colleges accept everyone and let the poor quality students get filtered in the first year after spending thousands of dollars and wasting the precious time of the faculty required to teach them? Why not promote community college as the testing ground for people without an SAT/ACT and then if they succeed provide a path to transition to a more prestigious university? Would accomplish the same goal of inclusivity, reduce the debt on those who are unable to compete at a collegiate level, and not further tax the resources of the already strained University system.

GPA is a proxy for privilege. I had a job and worked 30 hours a week in 11th/12th grade, that affected my grades. Meanwhile I aced the SAT without any prep courses.

ACT/SAT testing is owned by a centralized Jewish agency that charges like 200 dollars per test and then extra money to send it to a school. The test is designed to make you take it more than once too, as it provides no feedback and impacts the rest of your future.
