Film something unexpected—> Get a Felony

Any lawyer anons here? How the fuck does this work?
So, I film something unexpected then get charged with a felony or murder? How in the fuck does that happen? I have a dash cam too, does that mean If I capture a wreck on my dash cam I will also be charged with a Felony or Murder for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

People get charged with shit all the time that will never stick, it’s a tactic as the bar for an indictment is very, very low. The state believes this guy had something to do with it, so they charge him to get leverage, and if he cracks and implicates others good, if he doesn’t crack and beats the charges at trial it’s always going to look over him.

It’s a win/win for the state, the days of the state being embarrassed at wrongfully charging someone or apologetic are long past.

Case will get tossed and joggers will seethe.

As I understand it, he was doing more than filming. He wasn't an uninvolved spectator, he was actually trying to catch the the man and blocked him with his truck at one point. He didn't pull any trigger, but he's involved somehow. That's all I know.
