Last I looked at this, and my memory may be faulty...
White ppl numerically have more deaths at the hands of cops
Black ppl proportional to the general population have more deaths at the hands of cops
White ppl proportional to the number of police interactions have more deaths at the hands of cops
So basically - there are more white people, so more die, cops disproportionately kill black people, but only because they have far, far more interactions with black people - if stopped by the cops you're more likely to die if white.
