Everyone here should read books if they don't regularly. If you haven't read 1984, I will spare the story for you because it is an enjoyable read, but if you continue on, don't act like a faggot because I "ruined" the story for you.

Anyway, the story is centered around Wilson, who's smart, conscious, in a world where nobody is. There's many questions about a strange underground resistance, and his strange childhood around the time of the Revolution. Eventually, he befriends a woman similar to him in this regard, but far younger than he. They fall in love, and eventually his boss, who he suspected was like him too, inducted him into the rebellion he thought existed. However, it is soon revealed that this was fake, and he is imprisoned, along with his lover. He goes through rigorous torture, until eventually accepting Big Brother and his authority, living the rest of his life in bliss ignorance until he is eventually killed by the secret police (they let him have some years after reconditioning). However, many people like to note that Wilson noted, "If there is hope, then it lies in the Proles". The Proles are the generic proletariat/civilians, completely unaware to anything that goes on and are almost unsubject to most laws because they are seen as inferior. His notion is disregarded though, because "the Proles will never be aware of their condition".
