I examined the entire perimeter last night before dark. No cops in sight, no guns or body armor visible on anyone posted up near the barriers. People could come and go freely without interruption and were mostly eating takeout from restaurants outside the zone. Some of the block entrances just had dividers because they used up all the barricades on the first streets they took over and were not secure at all. Also, all of the territory that isn’t a street or alley is just a big park with no wall around it and could easily be accessed by foot, bike, or technical. That said, there is a core contingent of trannies and crust punks but the bulk of the thousands of people I saw there were white hipsters just there to party and check it out. It was more of a block party/farmers market/homeless camp than anything else.
