At this point you're probably pretty upset, you can't wipe your eyes of tears effectively because your hands are still covered in cheeto dust. You turn off your computer, you crawl into bed, pull the covers over your eyes, and proceed to cry yourself to sleep.

kek user, is this babby's first congress for you? the leadership in each house of congress get to decide a lot of things. mitch has the power to decide which bills to bring to the floor. this is because he is head of the majority party in the senate and can essentially decide what he thinks is worth passing or not the senate may vote to force a bill to the floor, but that can be filibustered without overwhelming majority. rather than actually sit there and talk for days before everyone leaves and it is defeated, it simply just isn't even brought up the house has its own rules and one of them is that pelosi and the majority party gets to decide who is on the house committees which have a lot of power to craft bills and motions and w/e. this is why the CARES act was filled with pork like funding for liberal arts
