What we are seeing here is companies are essentially holding Facebook to ransom in a sort of hostile takeover, they are acting just like uppity minorities
Facebook started out as a place for normal people to socialise, the companies asked if they could get in on this to make use of the traffic for advertisements, now they are being uppity and making demands to fit their agenda as if it always belonged to them
In the near future, most social media sites will purely be a corporate advertisement conglomerate that might occasionally let you use it to send messages to your Grandmother if the app isn't broken again
