I think the shooting of Daniel Shaver is pretty much the ultimate case against the police as a over militarized death squad.

If you're an overly-empathetic legal layman you think force being used against Shaver was unjustified. What you see is an absolute douchebag on one end and a crying boy on the other end. This ain’t Mexico, in some ways I admire your fucked up country because the cartels stand up to the government. One is as bad as the other in my experience. The problem here is that our military/police state is too powerful. I agree that action in the lone wolf sense could make a difference if done on a large scale. But the majority of the populace is far too brainwashed or weak for that. Our only hope of recapturing some of that old American glory, would be a coup led by honorable men in government and the military. But that is very doubtful, so in other words the American dream is dead. And it will never return to this land. That is all.
