USSR officers had poor training as well as their soldiers. Their weapon were shit and they couldn't care less. After they received decent weapon and acquired decent equipment with the lend lease their losses started to even with the Germans.

One of their main tactics was unironically chink warfare, where they send waves of men against a fortified position and wait until the defenders run out of bullets. It worked, though. But it's pretty subhuman and stupid to do.
Also the Red Air Force was constantly BTFO by the Luftwaffe heavily for a good chunk of the war. Air superiority and supremacy helped the Germans along a lot.

It went well because the troops stationed on the Russian side were meant to be an offensive force not a defensive force. Stalin was planning to let Germany be weakened enough so he could invade, and then with Europe weakened enough invade them. Hitler pre-emptively struck at them and took them by surprised, add in the fact that German soldiers were fighting for idealism and security at home it made them better quality soldiers than people living under Communism or Capitalism.

At the beginning of the war Stalin had just purged all his highest ranking officers and the army was ill equipped and ill trained. Hence the 12:1 ratio. By the end of the war they were a well-oiled machine with momentum on their side whereas the Germans were running out of manpower and supplies. At that point it was closer to a 1:1 ratio.
They literally didnt have enough guns to arm them all so they had two groups. Ones with rifles and ones with extra magazine of bullets. When the man with the rifle died the man with the magazine would pick up the rifle, reload and fight.

because the soviets were never strong, they entirely relied on external assistance to progress. Even after he siege of Moscow they relied on hundreds of thousands of German forces and their supplies being moved to NA in order to have breakthrough at Stalingrad. The soviets were completely incapable of fighting the war by themselves. Whereas the Germans wrekt them in the initial conflict, only to suffer heavy losses against the entire world ganged up against them on multiple fronts.

Germany killed POWs and civilians and calculated it as "enemy casualties"

Stalin purged the officers of the red army after the catastrophic failure in the winter war. They got caught with their pants around their ankles when Germany decided to kick the door in. It took the Germans over extending their supply lines, a harsh winter, and no German defensive back up plan to finally see the red army start pushing back. Once the red army started pushing they didn't fucking stop. The Germans didn't have enough time to set up any defense. The only major defensive action the Germans undertook was the battle of selow heights where the Soviets hit a brick wall and decimated their forces against the German army. The only thing their officers were capable of coming up with was send tanks into the 8.8 fire till either they ran out of tanks or the Germans ran out of ammo. The Germans ran out of ammo first.

The Soviet's combat strategies saw huge improvements over the span of the war. Their industrial production went through the roof, they produced better and more tanks, their training improved, their leadership improved. Denying all of this just makes you an ignoramus.
