That’s like saying West Slavs (Czechs, Poles, Slovaks) are ethnically German people who speak Slavic languages.
Slavs aren’t a race, but a cultural and linguistic group
Vlach Lives Matter.
>Ethnically Vlach people that speak Slavic languages
...which, to a degree, is true
I believe our cultural sensitivies border closer on the neighboring Romanian peoples than any of the remote and alien Slavic ones
Even with consideration to the fact that genetic research confirms that the bulk of our ancestry originates from Ukraine/Poland, with our maternal DNA being of a chaotic mix of native Illyrian/Dacian/Thracian/Pelasgian/Hellenic/Italic/Celtic extraction, I will always feel myself more closely related to Vlachs than anything else, and I'm sure I can't be the only one who feels this way
Never thought Bosniaks had representatives in the based department.
My ancesters :)
Thanks. I'm also sure most Bosniaks are not what you think they are
>I believe our cultural sensitivies border closer on the neighboring Romanian peoples than any of the remote and alien Slavic ones
Romanians border Slavs, idiot
It’s just like how West Slavs are much more cultured and civilized compared to their East and South Slavic counterparts. It’s def the genetic and cultural influences from Germans.

I like to push this meme too, but Polish can be very crass, if not more so than than their Eastern cousins especially from rural areas. It's been less than a century that this country has developed itself industrially. They are very similar to American rednecks.

The term is used for Balkan communities of people who still speak a version of Latin even today.

vlach is what Germans called foreigners. Same as wales, walloons, walnut, wallachia...
Poles still call Italy Włochy
Vlach means a lot of different things. In some cultures it is synonym for highlander. Dutch call them Walloons and Germans called them Welsch. They're all over Europe because a lot of them were nomadic sheep herders.
I know the term Vlach was Greek for Latin speakers so obviously there were "Vlachs" all over the Balkans even in Moravia, but it is also accepted that they come from the Wallachian/Transylvanian regions of what is modern day Romania. Wallachia literally means land of the Vlachs
Well Western and Eastern Slavs are closely related. Balkan Slavs are more of an offshoot.
That meaning is lost. Wallachia is now part of Romania and the term Vlach is for Latin speakers outside of Romania. I'm a Vlach myself.
