Texas is a battleground state right now. The polls show that the race is incredibly tight. The most recently released major poll from Fox News has Biden at +1 in the state. The fact that the race is going to be this close shows the number one threat the GOP has ignored for far too long.
Everything has been trending blue for a while now. Demographics are changing. Hispanic voters are increasing in droves, and the major urban centers are booming. In 2020, we are seeing an acceleration of this trend because the GOP is losing suburban voters.
Losing Texas will be a MAJOR blow to the GOP. The Democrats will be starting every single election with 93 electoral college votes by having the two largest states within their power, California (55) and Texas (38). The GOP is also on the verge of losing Arizona and Georgia. Meanwhile, in traditional battleground states, the democrats are leading by numbers outside of the range of error margin, meaning it is going to be extremely difficult for the GOP to gain ground elsewhere if they lose Texas.
Also suburban women, a pretty powerful voting bloc, despise Trump. Everything about him rubs them the wrong way.

I just want to say that I voted for Beto despite being a conservative in Texas because I knew he would lose and I wanted Republicans to get scared and get serious about defending Texas from Democratic encroachment. Upping the votes for Beto with my one vote might help the RNC to get scared straight about it and do something. Ted Cruz is a rat fucker (and so is Beto), so the fact that Beto LOST to Cruz, who is greatly disliked, yet Beto was supposed to be the most enthusiastic candidate the Dems have brought forth in Texas in a long time shows you something about how strong Republican votes still are in Texas. There is absolutely no way Trump loses Texas this year.
