Any of you anons had to deal with suicidal people? Any of you yourself had these problems? Not really sure what can be done with someone like that but you're the only people I could probably ask this of and get decent answers. He's a bit fat you see, and he wants to be in the army and he's 20 atm and he just feels very useless. I know it's a bit of a blogpost but forgive that for a moment and help an user out.
If you have a shooting range nearby keep an eye on their page. When they reopen give them a call or email and say you want to give it a go, they'll arrange to have you in.
Shotgun certificates (aka "section 2") are more or less "shall issue" i.e. if you jump through all the hoops and you're not clearly a scumbag you'll be given it.
On a shotgun certificate you can have a shotgun with max capacity of 2 + 1 (1 in chamber plus magazine of max 2 shells). It can be an over/under (common for shooting clay pigeon) or a pump-action or a semiauto, whatever you like. Another thing people do is buy smoothbore (= shotgun) conversions of classic bolt action rifles, just because it's easier to get it on SGC than with the firearms certificate you'd need to get the rifle firing bullets. Oh, muzzleloaders are section 2 as well iirc, so you could buy flintlocks for example if that's something you're into.

Are you certain he really wants to kill himself? My ex started cutting her legs with a razor blade and memory fades because it was years ago but I don't ever think she was properly suicidal, or not that I believed it. Only happened around 3/4 times but essentially it involved sitting up every night until 3-4am with a lot of crying and not being told what was going on. Threats of telling her parents / calling an ambulance if it kept happening were what eventually stopped it but obviously tread carefully if you actually believe they're suicidal.
