I had a similar encounter at sixth form who reported me to the police for posting pretty milquetoast UKIP memes and calling someone a 'feminazi'.
Luckily the police officer who came to my house said the world is PC-mad these days and if I'm going to say anything, say it in public so they can't screenshot it.

public order offence. my dad got me a good legal counsel and but they weren't on my side in the end and didn't represent me well. their hearts weren't in it. i'd imagine they were thinking of themselves too. it was a long process; the incident happened in april and i got convicted in october. the fine was pretty sizeable considering I wasn't working and didn't exactly have much left at the end of my degree. I first found out that the law was involved as I was at my parent's house and i got a call from my housemate. I could instantly tell something was fishy when I picked up the phone and his voice sounded strained, he was obviously uncomfortable and my heart rate was slightly raised. the policeman must have invited himself into my house and he ended up talking to me for a while explaining that I was being investigated for a public order offense and was told I needed to go to the york police station the following week to have an interview and a meeting with a lawyer that the police force had arranged to meet me. when i went I was super stressed as I drove up from suffolk to york that day and had to drive home the same day afterwards. the lawyer recommended I just deny all charges and say my phone was hacked. but I'm a proud lad and thought that was a coward's way out and followed it through. remember that video of the lad that had the police knowcking at his door for saying a woman was better off in england than somalia, that's what I ended up getting charged with. it took months and months for the courts to summon me to the magistrate. I got no jury and the fat female judge ended up delivering a short speech about how I should be grateful for having a father and insinuated that had I not I would be in a worse place. she didn't specify why. the whole ordeal was nasty through and through.

yeah the most revolting part was that I had already been to that police station once beforehand to report having been assaulted by a black man in plain sight of several CCTV cameras. I gave them the exact time of the assault and which cameras would show the violent mugging I had received. I got a call back from a monotonous and sour police woman in admin who basically said they were halting the investigation due to insufficient evidence.
