1. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that phrasing, do you mean "how high will it be when it fails compared to after the failure"? 2. Current estimates put the timeline post-failure at about 6 hours to empty downstream, due to the weight of the water behind it and the potential energy involved. If you've got a bathtub and some spare time you can run a simulation, but it'll basically be a hammer of water smashing its way along. 3. Eventually all the way to sea. Because the land flattens further east it'll spread out and lose some momentum, so it won't just wipe Shanghai off the map in all probability, but it'll wash it clean for sure. 4. This is a tricky question. There are already evacuation efforts underway in some areas but they have nowhere to evacuate to at the moment except higher ground. The region is the breadbasket for China though, so if it gets hectic then many millions will starve. 5. All of those and major economic centers for China. I'm particularly interested in Wuhan and Shanghai currently myself.
