op here, you know corporations pretend like there is absolutely NO difference in race, nationality, etc right? none of the managers, vp, or even c-suite guys make the decisions, its all the investors who put in board members that determine the direction and everybody else follows along. yeah any real person knows poos are shit but to investors they are equal and work for less which is a major reduction in input costs. maybe your cringy start up doesnt do this but bigger corporations save millions on this.

Agile development is a fucking meme. Most companies ask for shit which is never delivered in time and a 2 month project turns into a year long project with horrible working hours.

Was a contractor for a year, was then directly hired to the company.

Companies gone through many waves of lay offs, but they look only to affect contractors, employees are often not laid off. Last time that happened, there were severance packages.

I majored in humanities and transitioned into compSci, and let me tell you boys,
The ability to speak fluent english in the tech field will get you far, its definitely not normal, even amongst senior management. All the Senior Vice Presidents I have been exposed to have a laughable fluency with english, almost mind blowing in fact for their salary. So, in my experience, poos are cheaper, but their english is so god awful atrocious that you literally can't understand them at all some of the time.

Of course the will. Let me simplify the situation and why it will happen.
Let's say you're paying 10 western men $10 each to do a good job, but you could pay 10 Indians $2 do do a sloppy job. You then just hire 1 Western person per 10 Indians to clean up the code and you're set and same a shit load of money.

All of this is a LARP. Companies tried to outsource to Pajeet back in the 90's. It didn't work for low skilled labor then and it certainly won't work for high skilled labor now. Yeah, some shitty companies will try to localize salaries for their remote workers but that still generally comes out ahead for the workers because they don't have to commute.

You're just bitter because you chose to major in political science and there are no jobs available for you - remote or otherwise.
