I cannot find any employment. I am thinking about joining the Army. I was wondering if anyone here has done this. I have been diagnosed with PTSD about 4 years ago but I think I am just going to lie and deny it since I have been off my medication for 2+ years.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Well I don't recommend Army. U.S. ARMY backwards is "Yes My Retarded Ass Signed Up". From what I hear you want Air Force or Navy. Not even the National Guard is a good bet because they are being constantly sent overseas.

Air Force does plenty of things besides flying planes. Most Air Force stay on the ground and are called Chair Force. I don't think you have to be a great swimmer to go in the Navy. Just enough to stay afloat for a few minutes (learn how to paddle your legs to bob in one place).

Idk user, they're going to require your medical records, so if the diagnosis, history of medications prescribed and all that are a red flag they'll deny you.
I had a mole removed when I was a teen, and I have a quarter sized scar from it. When I got to MEPS and they saw it they turned me around sent me back home and wanted all the documentation on it to review before they'd let me enlist.

Don't join the military it's only going to make your PTSD worst. I joined the military for college and got stuck in submarine. I have dysthymia now. Trust me, you'll end up killing yourself or hurting someone. Take this advice. Just restart. Pursue whatever you're good at no matter what it is and have no shame. If you have to move away from friends and family so be it. You need to heal. Little by little and it takes time. military will not do that.
Even if have to start washing dishes or being a janitor look at it as working your way up. See it as the path to being humble. Just work on growing. Start small. Be humble. Have no shame or guilt. Restart be better. Don't give your life away to an organization that doesn't care. Your more important than that

The recruiter is taking you for a ride. Fraudulent enlistment will Fuck you. One wrong word 1 year, 20 years down the line and your entire career is in the trash and you will be lucky to keep any benefits.

Of course they'll contact you. Each person a recruiter brings in is just a notch under their belt for advancement. No matter what they say you are just an asset to them. As for jobs you have to keep trying i know it sucks. Just keep in mind if you gotta play dirty and manipulate to find a job don't have any shame because that's what most people do they just don't say it. Also research more on cover letters, resumes and interviews. Hell even go on reddit. You really have to want it. If you do you'll get it eventually

lots of people seem to join the military if they can't find a job. but i think you shouldn't. first off you could get deployed which could get you killed. what's more that you have ptsd, so even if you survive your ptsd will proberly have been worsened. maybe you won't be even accepted because they have to look through your medical records. if you do end up in the army, you better hope that you don't get deployed.

just be open and honest with your recruiter, especially if it involves group work. they should in addition have a list of local opportunities but it is not the responsibility of some dickhead in an office next to a JJ's to make sure that you make it to your appointments on time. Just take the ASVAB where they tell you to go and see how you do. Pay especially close attention to your surroundings on that day, you'll do great.
