I know I’m in the minority opinion here (not an actual minority, I’m white) but I genuinely enjoy multiculturalism. I live in San Diego, a port with like three military bases within an hours drive, and it’s also a place where refugees get resettled, and border crossers settle.

Honestly it doesn’t bother me at all. I make friends with people from diverse backgrounds, I learn about their food and culture, what life was like back home. Whether “back home” is Syria or North Carolina. Growing up I was good friends with Syrian refuges, and they were just normal people. Same with the undoc aliens. Some were very good friends of mine. One was a best friend to me all through high school and taught me so much about music and books. He learned English in just 2 years and he ended up doing Shakespeare festivals all through high school and college. He taught me guitar and gave me his old guitar.

Don’t get me wrong I have had white friends too. I love my family especially my family back home in Ireland. I just don’t see any issue with living in a multicultural area.

Your point is perfectly valid, however all of those things you could experience via travel. Let me ask you this, let's say no borders exist... and all those sweet refugees you've met thus far (bearing in mind that you've only met a few out of a couple of thousand) turn to their roots from where they've come from and force you to abide by their laws and culture. This is where the problem comes in. Seeing an oddity here and there causes no problems, it's when you become the oddity that you become the problem and you will be blamed for the problems created by those oddities you initially though. When you become a minority in your own culture, when the host becomes the guest, that's when you see your problems start.

There's a very good reason we have different cultures and identities. It keeps our people healthy, defended and society grows. Force a generous mixture of other together, it just doesn't work. Hasn't worked since the tower of babel, and that didn't work out for them. Love your people, love people, but don't for one second believe that all of the people you meet from abroad are like that. There's a reason we say they run in packs/hivemind/herd mentality. What's considered taboo to you, is completely normal to them, and those you'll find the same to be with even the moderate kinds. It's a completely different animal you're speaking of once you end up living with them, next to them or start getting affected by them - millenia has proven this.
