We take a lot of private (some would say public) school pupils. Nothing against state school pupils but private school pupils tend to have the right accent and demeanour for a job in corporate, e.g. not saying fink instead of think or dropping t's.
Even then though, the boys mumble or talk as though they're somewhat unsure of themselves. There's no confidence.
On the other end of the spectrum, there's some really arrogant graduates who are almost all male. They think they know it all and charge ahead with tasks and ultimately doing it wrong. The first type is easier to deal with than the second.
As I said above, I work for a large multinational in London (Unilever, Diageo size) and our graduate scheme takes on 200+ graduates a year so I have a huge sample size.

I'm 30 years old and you wouldn't believe the number of 27-35 year old women around me who can't find a guy their professional equal. Women easily outearn the majority of the men in this age group and some have even resorted to a 70/30 pay split with their underemployed boyfriends to avoid being alone.
And what's sad is, I AGREE with them.

One of my coworkers clearly got her position because she is a colored woman. Not because she was more qualified. We all see it. She has even said to me that she has no interest in the job, she just wanted the pay raise. This has been my experience with women in the workforce. Then when their bullshit teehee I'm a woman tactics dont work on you, they make sure the boss that the tactics have worked on sees you more negatively.
Boss comes to me when shit needs to get done. It gets done. It is thankless. Boss goes to her when he wants his ego stroked. Rules that used to seem to apply to everyone no longer apply for her. Assigns her with the simple shit she wont screw up. Rinse and repeat.
