A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

Yup. My home state makes it a misdemeanor to conceal your indentity unless based on religious beliefs, or incidental to amusement, entertainment, protection from weather, or medical treatment.
If they dont accept the written law, I add on that it's also illegal for individuals to conceal their identity when carrying a firearm concealed or openly. There isnt such a law where I am at, but it shuts them up pretty good.

Well I have been threatened by a stasi wannabe at my gym with suspension until covid ends if they catch me with my mask around my chin at the gym again, and we all know covid will never end. Yes this guy even harasses me for wearing it under my nose while I'm squatting hundreds of pounds.
I've put some thought into why masks, and why now? The largest part of the brain is devoted to reading facial expressions on other people. Its no secret that our brains have shrunk from our hunter gather days. Large parts of our brains that related to independent thinking have been selected against since the dawn of the agricultural revolution. Could masks have an epigenetic effect on brain size?
Also when I personally wear a mask I am more likely to start breathing out of my mouth instead of nose. This could also have a very harmful long term effect on the general populace if my habit is common.
Its far more likely this is just a mix of short sighted political power grabs and uniformed technocrats panicking by regurgitating useless medical (((studies))) in an effort to make themselves seem useful and important. I'm not sure why I despise this new trend of wearing a mask. Maybe I'm just autistic and can't stand having something over my face, but I have for a long time lost all faith in our institutions to do the right thing.

Tell them the truth. The mask makes COVID-19 more effective in the near future. The virus was not ready yet but needed to be released ahead of schedule. They were not aware of how in effective it truly was so at first, no mask required was their push. Easier exposure was the thought. Unfortunately this backfired. Our immune systems are stronger than they thought, hence the switch to 'wear a mask'. Wearing a mask helps limit exposure to germs and thus weakens our immune system. The hope is this weakened immune system will make C19 more effective. You need to believe it is as big an issue as possible. Its not just depopulation.

N95 masks filter 95% of particles, surgical masks filter 44% of particles, cloth masks filter about 3% of particles. If everyone is wearing masks in public, it's only slightly better than not.

There is a real-world, in-the-moment consequence for not stalling your cart.
But with Chinese flu, to begin with, most people who get it seem to only experience minor or no symptoms. The majority of deaths are happening in nursing homes. I know people who have gotten it and gotten over it. I also know people who have died from it, and they were all over the age of 85 and in nursing homes or hospitals already. To sum up, the probability of experiencing consequences for not wearing a mask is very low.

No one (In the west at least) wears a mask for the flu, let alone a common cold like COVID-19.
Now that we understand that COVID-19 is just a cold, lets move on to the masks themselves... The masks that most individuals have access to, cloth ones, do literally nothing to prevent the spread of viruses. They provide no filtration against either intake or exhaust. You cough or sneeze, it goes everywhere. You breathe in someone else's exhale, it goes right through the mask. If you have access to genuine medical grade surgical masks, those can slightly reduce the distance that your sneeze particles go, if you sneeze or cough, but do not filter exhales or inhales properly, either. If you have a quality N95 mask, you are moderately protected on inhales, but may still catch it through an unfiltered particle or via your eyes. Most N95 masks have an exhalation valve, making them worthless for protecting anyone but the wearer. The only mask that will truly protect you is an N100 or P100 full face respirator that looks like a gas mask. I've not seen a single one of these being worn in real life. Even these will not filter exhales, making them worthless for protecting others.
