I saw a chink shipyard from an airliner early last year, looked like a fuckin ww2, all the destroyer hulls in various stages of construction. Not something you'd see in a Western country. There are profound problems though, shoe-horning a brown water navy into blue water equipment and doctrine. I don't reckon the chinks can pull, it off.

Say what you want about China, but they are arming themselves fast. In the late stages of WW2 I think Americans were building a destroyer in a day, or maybe in a week.
Now we're living almost a similar era. China is building a new warship almost every week. I read from somewhere that they're building 55 ships for their navy this year. Maybe it will be less next year but at this rate world will be a very different place in 15 years. China could have equal navy to US in the future.

A world war 2 destroyer was 2.5-3K tons deadweight, it would be a large corvette or small frigate today. These chink "destroyers" are much larger.
