there's a high relative quantity of notable jewish composers which leads one to suspect some historical reshuffling or push (remember, you only know any music and names that people have intentionally kept record of and promoted throughout history), but i have an alternative theory: american culture derives itself from anglo culture, and due to some historical unfortunate events anglo culture traditionally saw that formal music as a decadence to only be reserved for religious activities (as far as i understand my music history, i could be off the mark). this is thanks to handel and also the loss of their mozart equivalent at a young age (so no classical tradition from concert halls, that ended up going to germany). there are a lot of english organist and liturgical and hymnals but not as many grand works that germany, italy and france developed the reason for that being that anglo culture is very industrious minded (there's a reason capitalism grew so strong from the british empire) and writing music was seen as a rather idle activity (some composers are very active, some not, but even among more active ones, it sometimes takes months or even years to write a piece). in germany and elsewhere composers were hired by courts and got stipends to write music on occasion and be a court performer, but in britain over time it was seen more as something that you marketed to be sold, and it's hard to live when you produce a product once every few months. see also in america, where musical careers didn't really take off until it became something that could be sold to the public widely (broadway, movies, rock music, pop music, etc.)

Rightwing politicians need to develop their own strategies for getting young, white people to settle down and make white babies (which will drive most to the right).
