I understand where you're coming from but pilpul has kind of a technical meaning too, it's not a catch-all for bullshit. Pilpul is the specific smell of the bullshit from a hypocrite trying to explain away his hypocrisy. What she does here is just try to make an argument by drawing a comparison. For example: anti-racists who favor firing whites and promoting blacks like she mentioned will probably drown in pilpul explaining how the real essence of racism is correcting injustices etc. and it's not contradictory.
