Kids used to be something people wanted. Kids were cheap to have, and if you were a farmer (as most people were), they were a cheap source of labor. Your wife who you would have kids with would never leave you because divorce wasn't really possible a long time ago. And when you got old, your kids would look after you.
These days, kids are expensive to have. They take a lot of looking after in a world where we have less time than ever. The kid's mum (i.e. your girlfriend/wife) is more likely than not to leave you. When she does leave you, you've now gotta cough up the $$$ for a kid you rarely get to see if at all. And if you have your own house, get ready for your ex to take it off you. When you get old, your kids will want you to hurry up and die so they can get your last few pennies.
So, no, I don't want kids. The benefits of having kids are gone, and now our lives get worse when we have kids.
