if the email address was changed, users wouldn't just be complaining about not being able to tweet, they'd be locked out of their account. Nobody mentioned being locked out of their account, only errors that came up when they were trying to tweet.

Twitter is pushing the 'changed the email address' narrative to hide that they have the functionality or API to tweet as *any* user, which would erode trust in the platform.
