I too am curious and hope for the best but with the state of the courts being utter trash that disregard rights and ignore laws to get convictions, well, I do not give it good odds.

Chances are it was just a preliminary hearing where he pleaded guilty or innocent and not a full on trial. Leafs will call me a dumb burger but Im not sure if canada has a plea bargain type of arrangement, but if they do and its like here, the public defenders will always go with a no contest plea and attempt to bargain down sentencing. These are always a bad deal and its better to figjr it and at least waste the courts time and money dragging it out.
