Oil and a rag with elbow grease. tons of vid on utube

Better off leaving it as is instead of risk destroying it further

Dam that dagger is in horrendous condition, is it legit though?

Get a replica and preserve the original

You can get them from

Yeah it's real. Unfortunately some kid pried out the eagle and roundel but that can be replaced. You can't see it in this picture but there's a little bit of actual rust forming on the blade just under the hilt so a cleaning is necessarily to stop it from getting worse. I bought it from a local guy thinking those stains could be removed but now I don't know. I haven't tried anything yet because I don't want to mess it up.

Bit of detail. You can see the little bit of rust forming.

even comes with the sheath.

I’m a pro German dagger restorer.

Unfortunately given the fact that the blade has corroded and the eagle is missing, this dagger isn’t really worth restoring. Rather, I would take it apart and sell it for parts on eBay. Even if you restore it, it will simply be a parts dagger with little value.

Prices.

Scabbard 225 USD as it’s solver nickel

Cross guards about 150-175 USD as they look nice and about 75 USD for the handle as a silver nickel eagle would cost about the same, totally being about 150 USD for a complete one.

You can also sell the blade, some people collect them. Probably about 50 USD

scrub with oil and rough to get the surface clean. Then scrub it with silver polish.

you can remove a lot of the rust and stuff just polishing it with wd40. After that wipe it down with mineral oil.
Put on too much mineral oil and put it in and out of the sheath a few times to get oil on the inside too.
Mineral oil is great for knives, it is rust resistant anti microbial and food safe.

2000 grit sandpaper and metal polish afterwards would work Maybe even fine steel wool or a buffing wheel.

If you want to keep it regardless and it has some sentimental value, I can post a link to an original correct eagle and a correct rounded here.

I recommend some Simichrome for the blade, then apply renaissance wax to the whole dagger including the blade.

Also, a good tip on good blades is to clean the inside brass plates in the scabbard. Be careful and don’t damage the screws.

If you’re not in the mood for all of this, I do professional restorations on these.

Please for the love of God do not clean that blade you stupid fucking leaf. Antiques should NEVER be cleaned unless there is a realistic threat to the object and not just an issue with it's appearance. If you absolutely must clean it, seek out the help of a professional. That's an important historical artifact and altering it inherently destroys not just it's value but it's heritage. Would you tear the pages out of a journal? Think.

That’s exactly what I did for my machete and kbars

Don't use wd-40. It leaves a film that is hydrophilic. It causes rust in the long run. Wd-40 is a penetrating oil.

For the love of god don't use steel wool.

>how?
Plunge it repearedly into the chest of a Jew.
Friction on the rib cartilige does the trick

Wipe it down with distilled vinegar, leave it to air dry, 24 hours later repeat. Next day rub it sown with some course sand paper, the coarser the better, then repeat the vinegar steps.

Finally get some wire wool and polish it, you'll be blown away by the results, this is exactly how Himmler did his, and Rommel discovered that sand from the Tunisian desert was perfect and was always being asked by other top ranking german commanders to bring them back some for their knife polishing..

10000 grit Emory paper, wet or dry, it will take a month worth of work. Either that or leather with mineral oil.

It's probably a high carbon steel blade. Some cooking knives are made from carbon steel. See if there are ways to remove stains from those types of knives. Carbon steel knives should be dried within 2 minutes of each use. If you cut a lemon or something clean with soap and water then dry, immediately or it will stain. Most people leave the stains because it shows character.

Fuck off kike.

Fuck off

Flitz KR kit
don't listen to the LITERAL kikes who only care about the ((($))) value of the knife, they should be executed using cheap Cutco dinner knives

Yeah simichrome or flitz is what other folks have told me to use too. What technique should I use to apply the product? Rub on blade in circular motions, rub perpendicular to the length of the blade, or rub along the length of the blade?

I know that cleaning the runners in the scabbard is a pretty complicated process and I wouldn't dare to try it myself. To be honest, I do not think it is even worth trying to mess with the scabbard. You can't see it from the photo, but the damage to the scabbard is actually quite extensive. There is a crack in the body of the scabbard on the side and there is a dent, the ball is dinged, there is another dent on the top fitting. The screws also do not feel too tight so I don't know if it was already opened at some point.

Just in case, if you have a website for your service you should post it here if you're not too shy.

Pic is the scabbard. Note the light shining through on the inside.

Why the fuck do posts like this keep getting kept on Zig Forums?

It's relevant to the culture of the board.

Tried posting it on /k/ but the board moves too slow and the main interest there is firearms. I figured there's a good chance there might be people on Zig Forums who collect Third Reich objects.

>water stains
it's the blood of jews

Try /diy/ they almost always have a knife making thread up.

Go get it professionally restored before you ruin it.

Leave it as it is.

restoring it can devalue it among collectors. just look at restored stahlhelms, an original M40 with an original heer decal that is restored can go from ~$1,000 to $400.

I would definitely buy it if I could

That dagger is already worthless among collectors. The blade is poorly preserved, the tint on the motto is completely rubbed off, the scabbard is damaged, and it has been "denazified" (insignia pried out of the grip). SA daggers are actually pretty common (SA personnel numbers in the millions during the peak of Nazi Germany and they all had a dagger). You can get a near-perfect specimen for about 600 bucks. When I bought this one it was never about the money value because I knew from the start how rough it was. I didn't buy it to resell it, I bought it to put on display on my shelf.

>Go get it professionally restored before you ruin it.
Yeah but where can you find a jew to legal stab multiple times these days?
