It's entirely possible that there's am afterlife. Believing there isn't doesn't make you smart. Why wouldn't there be? Humans know about 0.02 percent of things we know to know about right now. Simulation theory is statistically probable. Just because it's not a "God" as you might think of it doesn't mean some type of afterlife doesn't exist.

We are about 150 years away from making virtual reality impossible to differentiate from real life. What are the chances that this hasn't happened before? Low. It's almost impossible.

It's not reasonable to think of these things within the laws of physics as we know it because physics as we know it isn't existant "outside" the universe. Take for example the universe itself. Either it's always been here which is physically impossible or it came to be out of nothing which is also physically impossible. So these arguments are often outside of the bounds of physics and are more mathematical and philosophical in nature.

I'm not saying god exists, but I'm saying it's improbable that we know enough about the universe we live in (are literally a part of) much less anything outside of it to give such certain answers. I'm aware of the burden of proof, but in this case I feel it falls upon both parties and not one or the other.
