How much is rent normally for a trailer? It must be cheap if the trailer trash can afford it right? I wouldn't mind living in one while working as a developer, they look cosy and plus listening to the rain hitting the trailer must be peaceful.

Most places you pay 300-400 for the lot fee plus utilities. At least that's KY, TN, OH, IN when I looked into them. One good thing is you can always sell it later or move it to your own property.

Grew up in a midwest trailer park back in the 90s....
I recently went back to my hometown and drove through the park for shits and giggles. There aren't any new trailers there. Almost all the trailers there now are the ones that were new back in the 90s. Trailers lose a lot of value, they are hard to finance and a lot of people just leave them in the park if they can't pay for them... because what are they gonna do, tow it away?
Back in the day, trailer park wasn't terrible because it was clean and safe. Looks completely rundown now and probably half the trailers are meth factories

Rent to own and rentals to people with shit credit. A lot of "modular home" communities have HOA fees which are stupid expensive. People get fucked into paying the equivalent of a real home mortgage but get stuck in double wide trailers.

Many cities do not allow new trailers to be brought in. If you can't afford a real house, you either buy a trailer from 1990 or go homeless. It's a blatantly racist measure.

Nicer than an apartment, but not a house. This is good because the quality of everything, new appliances, doors and windows, carpet for a fraction of the price. Buying a double wide and dropping it in the cuntry is about the best scenario of price and sanity. If you're area sucks geographically because of the population then they will probably suck too because they're so close together in a park.

Visited a girls grandparents in a park a few years ago, couldn’t believe how cozy and friendly everyone was. Just a bunch of retired, elderly, nice people. Honestly liked it more than the suburbs I live in.

Having a trailer in your own land is different from living in a trailer park.

Working on similar except: bought several acres and paid off, living in travel trailer (not double wide trailer) while I short term finance or pay chas as I build a house. In about 5 years will have a house and land with no mortgage.
