I'm doing a bit of research on mail in ballots from 2016 and 2012, looks like the general rejection rate was around 3-5% depending on the locality, with Democrats about twice as likely to be rejected due to error as Republicans. This seems to have spiked in the 2020 primaries up into 10-20% due to tardiness and people not knowing how to validate their ballots. I'm thinking that having half of your base dedicated to mail in ballots is not a good idea.
