If everyone is struggling and becoming unemployed and homeless where is the signs of this?

There are scaremongering articles and news everyday, even threads on Zig Forums about how the corona lockdowns have made so many millions out of work, so many millions more unemployed. Millions can't pay their rent. Billions destitute, etc. The system is collapsing around us we are told over and over again.

I live in a working-class council estate in Birmingham in the UK and have never seen a single sign of this *new* destitution and millions thrown on the scrap heap. Sure people might not be rich around here and there are some term unemployed but everyone seems to be doing ok and the poverty or whatever in these areas have always been there anyway. I see women who are single mums working in BM Bargains and they drive a BMW, go on holiday twice a year, new clothes and trinkets and phones all the time. Kids in 80 quid air max trainers.

Yet we are told everyone's in food banks, drowning in poverty and can't feed their kids.

Everyone around here is going on holiday, driving a flash car around, carrying designer Gucci and Chanel bags, dropping hundreds a week in the pub on food and drink. Spending a fortune on gym supplements, haircuts, tattoos, all the typical Deano essentials are easily taken care of.

Most whites around here own their home from right to buy council or mortgage, they all have at least 1 car in their drive way, they all have thousands of pounds worth of furnishings in their home. Most people who work around here have worked in the same jobs for decades or more. They are in secure jobs. Some people have worked in the local Mcdonalds for 15 years and live the lifestyle of a Hollywood celeb on a Mcdonald's wage.

Where is all the destitution, homelessness, food banks, poverty, people losing their jobs, we are told about over and over? Shouldn't i be seeing examples of this in a run down working class urban area? It's not like i live in a comfy countryside cottage where everyone is wealthy. It's just pub class whites and a few odd pakis and blacks here.

good point OP
not seeing first hand evidence of it here in australia either
then again i live in comfy suburbia in my mums basement

It's funny because those are the types of women i'm referencing here. They usually work in a pub or serving coffees in some takeout shop or wetherspoons and they enjoy an insanely comfy life on this retail/coffee shop wage. They are always on holiday and they always drive an Audi or a luxury car. If they have kids the kids are always kitted up in hundreds worth of JD clothes. Yet in the news it says that these women are reliant on food banks and can't feed their kids or clothe them

It takes time you stupid asshole

You only see fraction of population moving around. Poor poeple are invisible and stay home to cut costs of everything

did you just post your OC gif?

I was doing landscape installs and we slowed down so much that my boss shut down the business and got a more stable job
I've been out of work for two months now and the only jobs around me are fast food and 12 hour night shifts in warehouses
Parents are helping me while I wait on unemployment back pay
That'll buy me two months max and if I can't find a job that doesnt make me want to kms I'll probably hop a train and live on the street until I can find something

poverty does not exist in the UK. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a Hebraic communist.

What you all talking about, I can see polio and rickets forming under that fine ass...just look at the way she stands

But the people who live around here are what's described as "working poor" i.e they have to rely on some kind of benefits/tax credits top up to get by, yet even the "working poor" are living it up. I haven't seen a working poor living on the streets, they all have houses and cars and have been living the same routine for years and years. There's no sudden change for a coffee shop working or factory worker that leaves him penniless on the streets yet we constantly hear about working people being reliant on food banks because they lost everything and don't have stable jobs because of the economy.

The people on the pic related are doing these jobs into old age and living comfy.

Are you serious or is this epic bait?

Wtf are you talking about? 750,000 jobs have been lost in this country alone. I was due to start a new job and 2 days beforehand, I was told my contract had been terminated due to corona. Now I have very little options available; many of my friends are in the same boat.

I'm serious. There are people reliant on JSA and low incomes around here sure, there are poor people but these people have been living this way for decades and decades. There is no NEW destitution and poverty that i see. There is nobody collapsing into poverty from corona lockdowns, there is nobody's cake business folding and leaving the owner on the streets and at food banks. All the small businesses here like pet shops and cake shops are ticking along just fine.

Most working class men for example who work in ASDA or work in a meat packing plant have been working in this role for years and years and they never lose their job. This job gives them a comfy life of home ownership, holidays, decent cars. Yet every election we hear about "millions thrown on the scrap heap by the tories" and all this rhetoric. I'm saying where are all these newly impoverished families and business owners and workers? I literally never ever see them. Most ppl here are definition of comfortable despite being working class or "working poor"

This is a good 8 here

Everyone's borrowing beyond their means, up to and including the government

the high streets are definitely quieter. we havent really seen much yet though, it will get worse and worse for years. this is just the beginning.

Never seen anything like that here. People on the dole have been on the dole for decades. I have never seen a man who owned a barber shop, suddenly go under and be reliant on the dole and watching the pennies. The man in the barber shop is still there working 10 years later in the same shop; new car, new fittings for the shop, new clothes, holidays with his wife several times a year. These people are doing awfully well.

this too. BoE is in hyperinflationary mode. loads of jobs being laid off. M&S just announced this morning theyre cutting 7k jobs

>millions thrown onto the scrapheap.
I don't agree with the far left narrative that is usually spun against Tories but to pretend that the current situation isn't anything short of economic disaster is ridiculous. Pic related.

>ywn have her fat ass smother your face for 3 hours while she bitches about her friend's BF being a huge cunt, occasionally squirming as she gets wetter and wetter

this, it took around a year and a half for the full effects of the GFC to hit society
I'm currently eating into the money I'd been saving toward a house deposit. To say everything is fine would be a lie, I'll likely need to work another full year just to recoup lost savings, and that's assuming everything goes back to normal. Of course everyone just picrels because "at least you have savings".

But somehow it never seems to affect these folks who are in secure jobs for decades

Ever seen an old woman working as a school cleaner who had to suddenly go to the job centre and sign on and go to a food bank because she and her husband lost everything? They are comfy until retirement.

Same user and it hurts. I was supposed to have a job now, now I'm unemployed and there's nothing to apply to.

I live in a small village in southern Poland and I could say that the situation seems similar around here. People going on vacation, spending money on stupid shit, things as usual. Yet if I was to give a prediction, I think shit didn't hit the fan yet, or at least not with full momentum.

As far as I know, our government gave free gibs to employers on the condition that they keep their employees for a given amount of months. That amount of months is about to run out in september/october and I think that's when the unemployment hits a decent spike and from that point on it's basically only downhill.

Funny thing though, I graduated college at the end of may and since then was only sitting at home and not doing anything meaningful. I'm about to start looking for a job in the middle of all this shit. Wish me luck, boys.

Idk, supposedly our unemployment rate is 11%, but I live in a small town, not a city where I expect most jobs would be affected.

Funny how its all the liberal places that are getting the shit end of the stick because of their mayor or governor's decision to shut down economies and businesses and they still manage to blame drumpf

Nice butt
Anywho OP here in the USA people live paycheck to paycheck and thanks to bean counters freaking out about Corona now we have a shitton of people who are unemployed
They have been surviving on unemployment checks for all this time

it does affect them though. theyve been laid off.

Like every empty patch of grass on public property is filled with fucking tents in my city. I've never seen this many homeless people in my life.
I live in Minneapolis RIP

>I'm about to start looking for a job in the middle of all this shit.
It's hopeless. Godspeed user.

Dunno how it is in Poland but over here there's hardly any jobs
And if there are it's mostly retailshit. I still have a couple years left of school

>my personal empirical experience accounts for absolute objective reality.

You are a massive retard.

There's a massive lineup of cars every wednesday at my city hall for food handouts.
Ive never seen that before covid.

This. I'm sorry OP, but there's no other way to put it.

I work in a shop selling furniture and last Saturday a grown man came in crying because he had purchased furniture a week prior and lost his job on the Friday. Hadn't seen it coming. I've got a friend who is moving back in with his parents because he lost his job. There are pubs where I live that havn't and won't be reopening. More boarded up shops than ever on the main road of my town. This is just the beginning.
I don't follow mainstream politics. I didn't vote last election. Have no interest in the people who argue about Tories and Labour. However it would be foolish to think that home ownership is secure. That financed cars and home furnishings aren't going to ruin these people. As for holidays nearly all have been cancelled. I don't know where you have gotten the idea that cake businesses and pet shops are ticking along fine when you presumably don't have access to their books. Appearances can be deceptive. The worst is yet to come.

How come it doesn't affect these people though? They are living the same lifestyle decade after decade. They have lived through all the economic crashes, "austerity", bank crashes, etc and yet you never ever see any big change in their finances or employments. It's always just more of the same year after year. I have never seen one of these men who was left homeless after he lost his job in a car plant.

>I'm about to start looking for a job in the middle of all this shit. Wish me luck, boys.
In the past i'd have said there are toilets that need cleaning but honestly I think your shit out of luck. Hopefully i'm wrong.

>How come it doesn't affect these people though?
You mean people who were already on state benefits? Gee I wonder why.
>you never see
>I have never seen
>>

This is ridiculous, I'm sorry.

These cake shops and pet shops and little family run cafes have been open for over 20 years and they don't seem to be closing down any time soon. They have a big customer base from the local estate and the owners all drive land rovers or BMW's. They are raking the cash in. What you describe is not here in Birmingham at least on these estates where i live. It all looks like more of the same to me as usual. The druggies etc are of course on long term bennies, long term disabled. There is no dramatic change in people's circumstances though and there never is.

If these people driving around in the German cars were truly struggling the way you say wouldn't they be selling the car? Instead the upgrade the darn thing! How can people struggling be affording to kit out luxury cars get extensions and porches put on their homes? brand new flooring and sofas from the most expensive retailers?

Yeh sure and Brazil said those words 30 years ago, now look at it

Old pictures were beautiful, could have been mistaken for New York before the kike infiltration

Now look at Brazil, not one pure white in sight, every new breed has dirty nigger blood in it and the IQ is falling faster than a Jew who spotted a sheckle while sky diving

This nation is absolutely fucked. The IQ has dropped 5 points, coal burners and nigger fuckers are rampant because media tells women its cool and we know how fucking retarded women are

30,000 white children raped by mohammed

Most of us user, are intelligent enough to see how this house of cards is poorly stacked and we’re one strong gust of wind away from complete civil war

Niggers and mohammed jobs are all bullshit, all security or taxi drivers, food workers etc completely fucking useless and frankly a luxury. As soon as the crash comes, and it will, they will all lose their retard whitey support job

Then you’ll see what a chimp our really means when Jamal cant afford his kfc and prostitutes and Achmed cant support his 2 year old wife

I wouldn't give up hope though. There's a great de-coupling underway between China & the west which could likely kick off a manufacturing boom. House prices are going to fall, people are going to die, boomers' wealth will be released and the world will be there for the taking.
Next 5 years are going to be absolute hell though ngl.

>You mean people who were already on state benefits? Gee I wonder why.

Well if they are already on state benefits (even though most of them work for Land Rover and Jaguar) shouldn't they have seen a change in their money from all those Tory cuts? They would still show signs of their circumstances changing from all the benefits cuts leaving them unable to afford their rent or whatever. Yet we DON'T see that. We seem them prodding along as always. Just more and more of the same over and over. I havent seen one forced to sleep under a tesco doorway because his benefits were cut. They are still in the pubs in the same routine spending like normal.
