Take a amateur sextant and get angular data on the moon during the day at any phases but full moon. Use the positional data to determine how the earths shadow hits the moon during the day, spoiler it doesn't.

Take binoculars at night and watch the moon until a star intersects it, you will see the star shining directly through the moon as if it was a transparent reflection.
