The other thing about this issue is that White People have fostered an extremely driven cultural identity and appreciation for personal independence, freedom, liberty, etc.. And while these are all really good ideals: these make constructing a single uniting narrative to get behind extremely difficult because infighting and subterfuge are the natural state with this mind set.
