The thing with Vaush is that he is very intelligent. Say what you want, but he processes things very quickly. He also has very high verbal intelligence.

Because of this, he has attracted a legion of people who are middling to low in IQ who could never possibly hold up a debate about the positions he argues for. They *feel* what he says is right, but almost none of them would deign to do the research that he would. Thus, he has a legion of people who hold him up as their intellectual leader.

However, his ego is massive and, while he advocates a form of communism, he does things like giving his videos the worst clickbait titles to drum up controversy and views, which result in money.

He argues points that *sound* good: if you don't think tax is theft, then why would a worker co-op taking over a company be theft? It's pure sophistry, as one person came up with the idea and would've been the only one to lose their capital from the investment if it hadn't panned out. Also, a tax that benefits many or most of society is different than a company takeover that disproportionately benefits the workers and completely robs the owner. It's sophistry, but it sounds good to his following who will never own a company.
