I live in a rich area in downstate illinois that has almost no high end shopping, and everyone used to flock to Chicago to get their designer clothes, shoes, ect. People are actively avoiding Chicago and going to Indiana or Iowa to get clothing in stores. Schaumburg used to be a nice place to go too bc it has a big mall, ikea, and nice hotels in the area, but even that mall is turning to shit too. Chicago is a war torn 3rd world shithole for the most part. Yeah there are some decent neighborhoods still in some spots, but how long will that last realistically?
